This is an absolutely amazing sauce that can be served over a number of dishes. We served it over bean threads for this meal however it could be used over mashed potatoes at thanksgiving dinner, any grain, or in my opinion, it would be incredible over a wild rice blend. The earthy yet bold flavors of shiitake and asparagus pair well together and complement each other. If you love asparagus and shiitake mushrooms, you will love this. It was tempting to leave the noodles out entirely and just eat bowls of this sauce straight.
